Due to the long-term docking of yachts at the dock and the erosion of seawater, their service life is relatively short. Yachts are also very meticulous in maintenance and upkeep.
Although yacht outing brings people ultimate enjoyment, factors such as sea salt fog, sunshine and rain, seasonal temperature difference, etc. undoubtedly bring many troubles to the Yacht club in maintaining yachts. Here, we will introduce some common knowledge about maintenance and upkeep of yachts:
1. Porthole glass
Special glass maintenance products can be used for the porthole glass of yachts. This product has a cleaning and waterproof effect, which can penetrate into the glass pores, form a surface protective film, provide clear vision, and block water droplets from leaving traces on the glass, keeping the glass windows clean every day.
2. Hatch cover on deck
There is a groove below the hatch cover on the deck. After each ship wash, all hatch covers on the deck must be opened, cleaned, and dried. In the case of long-term non use, it is best to open the hatch cover once a month and wipe the sealing strip on the hatch cover once with warm cleaning solution.
3. External latch
The lock catch of the storage cabinet on the deck should be kept clean, tidy, and dry to prevent mold. After each ship wash, the external storage cabinet should be opened and air dried. The items in the storage cabinet should be kept dry and neatly arranged. It is best to empty the storage cabinet every 4 months and thoroughly clean it. All external door locks and hinges should be kept clean, dry, and preferably replaced annually. It is best to lubricate the hinge every 6 months for protection.
